BIM ... IN POLISH CONSTRUCTION - AUTODESK 2019 REPORT
The following article is a summary of the report published by Autodesk in 2019 on the current use of BIM in Poland titled: "BIM, CLOUD COOPERATION IN POLISH CONSTRUCTION". The report was created as a continuation of a similar study from 2015 to update BIM knowledge and compare data over 5 years. The report is based on a sample of 287 respondents from the environment: designers, contractors and investors.
The popularity of BIM in the construction environment in Poland was determined by: the largest - architects, engineers; medium - contractors, investors; the smallest - legislators, facility managers. The reasons for popularity include: better quality of projects, minimization of errors in performance, improved communication, cost control, greater market competitiveness. The following barriers were indicated: too low project prices, low BIM knowledge, lack of investor involvement in the BIM environment, lack of standards, lack of specialists, lack of cooperation based on common BIM platforms. The needs include: investor involvement in BIM, development of BIM standards, changes in law, BIM education, development of BIM libraries. Impact factors were determined as the need to increase access to: external financing, specialists, new technologies, and investments. Work in the cloud is used by approx. 23% of respondents from the natural BIM environment. Summary of the report can be summarized: the increase in the popularity of BIM, BIM allows you to reduce costs, repetitive barriers and needs over 5 years. Most of the parameters examined noted an increase in value in 2019 compared to 2015. Reductions occur at positions such as: barriers, needs: BIM libraries, the need to change the law.
