BIM Netherlands 2019

The first work on Dutch BIM dates back to 1988 when Wim Gielingh from TNO (English: Dutch Research Institute) develops the AEC Reference Model for the ISO STEEP (ISO 10303) project. The next research project on the digital building model was carried out by Van Merendonk and Van Dissel in 1989. In 1999, a number of research projects were carried out in the EU on digital modeling of building information, where many IFC elements and principles currently date from that time. Next national initiative of the VISI orac COINS process (2003). In 2007, the path to the development of the CAD standard called NLCS begins and a profile is created on linkedin.com buildingSMART Benelux which can be synonymous with the creation of a branch of the association for the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

VISI - is an open standard of digital communication in the project, it defines: processes, information, the role of cooperating people, finds application in issuing orders, providing schedules, results and reports.

COINS - used for modeling information about the CBIM building and CEM engineering, defines the system for integrating information about the model, objects, materials, costs in the system OWL Web Ontology Language was used.

CB-NL - is the standard used for BIM naming as a language normalization for the entire construction sector and connections between open standards.

NLCS - holednors CAD stadndard for civil engineering.

In 2012, the government real estate agency begins using BIM to manage buildings and publishes Rgd BIM Standard and implements NLCS. In the same year, the pilot phase for CB-NL begins. In 2014, the buildingSMART Benelux branch is created. Until 2016, the University of Twente continues research on the organization's level of maturity in the use of BIM and to determine the best practices in building information modeling. In 2015, the Dutch Revit Standard road begins and bimloket.nl obtains licenses to distribute the NL-SfB standard. In the same year, the Chain Standard for Building and Installation Foundation was created as the manager of the SALES standard and a profile on twitter.com buildingSMART Benelux is created, which can be described as increasing the activity of the regional branch of the association.

NLRS - is an open standard for Revit autodesk, contains a naming system, model structure, parameters etc.

SALES - is an XML standard for electronic communication between parties in the construction process in the field of installation, contains: product data, order conditions, confirmations and delivery documents, and invoices.
