Digital Twins buildingSMART Report 2020
New report from May 2020 buildingSMART: Enabling a Ecosystem of Digital Twins - how to unlock economic, social, environmental and business values for the construction industry. It re-introduces the idea of a Digital Resource Twin and the basic three goals of the new Twin Twin Working Group. To which the authors invite everyone. The objectives presented in the report were based on an attempt to diagnose large obstacles before widespread implementation of the Twin system as a global exchange of information, covering full mobile and immovable infrastructure. So resource. Graphic presentations of the Digital Twin Environment available on page 5 - The Digital Twins ecosystem includes all resources: technical infrastructure, energy management, housing, public transport, office building management and public services, rail transport, air transport and investment implementation (supply and construction) , telecommunications network and city monitoring. The whole is connected in a cloud of data cut off from the world by a layer of security. And this is one of the obstacles that the buildingSMART task force is leaning on: data security and privacy. The problem can be solved by introducing data protection measures and the availability of data that can be made public or transferred to other entities using the cloud. The next two goals are: data model standard and data management and integration standard. In practice, the goals describe the assumed tasks, thus there is no need to describe them in detail. The description of the Digital Twins idea is worth recommending. What it is and what it consists of.
Digital Twin is a digital representation of a physical resource. [1] AI artificial intelligence, machine techniques, sensors and IoT Internet of Things. The whole is to be combined in one network, distributed databases (in the cloud) as compatible information resources. Easy to analyze by users of the digital ecosystem. This allows you to better and faster react, in real time, to threats and changes. Improves to the work environment, supply efficiency for investors, owners, managers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, tenants and users as well as the whole society. You can add artists and designers. The main problem to be solved remains data compatibility, available as an international data standard. There are currently many formats that do not work together. The most important information from the entire report is: the ability to achieve the set goals in currently available technologies. Building a standard based on the ISO 55000 standard. To indicate the details of buildingSMART works in the field of Digital Twins, it is worth complying with the ISO standard. For this purpose I will use the abstract of Alan Wheatley:
"The industries are on the brink of a new trend in improving asset efficiency, with current pressures that organizations are experiencing in achieving optimal value from their assets. The challenge for the organization is the need to maintain, and often increase, operational efficiency, revenue and customer satisfaction, while reducing capital, operating and support costs (Mitchell, 2002). The International Standard for Organizations (ISO 55000) has been developed specifically for Asset Management (AM), which consists of a series of three components: ISO 55000, ISO 55001 and ISO 55002. ISO 55000 is not just about maintenance, but also about creating value. Assets allow organizations to achieve strategic goals and meet the needs of stakeholders. Optimal resource management has become crucial for organizations to remain competitive today 's global market. ISO 55000 requires changes in policy, processes and people, thus questioning the status quo and leads to a completely new asset integrity system. The integrity of resources requires organizations to comply with standards and various regulations. Adopting the ISO 55000 standard will allow the organization to customize how resources are managed and conserved, and improve return on investment by reducing costs while supporting asset value without sacrificing organizational goals. Physical assets are often taken for granted and the greater the reliability, the greater the revenue generation potential they have. Resource management is more complex today, but in many organizations, resource management is often focused and inadequate. Organizations strongly focused on profit should look at ISO 55000 from the perspective of finding ways to use it to reduce costs and increase efficiency. The purpose of this document is to classify the necessary elements in ISO 550000 that organizations must adopt to develop a new approach to asset integrity, creating a clearer way to implement an asset management system in an organization.
